China’s petrochemical producer Hengli Petrochemical Co. has achieved full operating rates at its fourth purified terephthalic acid (PTA) line on Changxing Island, Dalian City, China, according to the company’s statement. This follows the unit start-up on January 8. As SSESSMENTS.COM noted, the new PTA line uses INVISTA’s P8 technology and can produce up to 2.5 million tons/year of PTA. It is also able to produce benzoic acid as a co-product.
