NewsSSESSMENTS: Import South Korean PVC Offers To China Market Continues To Rally

Author: SSESSMENTS

A trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that the offers for import South Korean PVC cargoes to China market continue to rally. In comparison to a week earlier, May shipment offers for ethylene-based PVC cargoes from a South Korean producer were adjusted higher by another $50/ton, bringing the cumulative increases to $100/ton in less than a week. The trader stated that the increases are supported by the limited supply as well as a positive pricing outlook in the international market. However, there is no deal concluded yet at the time of the publication.

Previously on May 7, the offers also went up by $50/ton on a weekly comparison citing the limited supply from the producer’s end and firmer China’s PVC futures market. SSESSMENTS.COM was told that deals were concluded a day after at $670/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis, or $10/ton lower from the initial offer level. Further added, in case any unforeseen circumstances arise, the last shipping date is before June 10, 2020.
