A Malaysia-based compound manufacturer reported to SSESSMENTS.COM regarding August shipment PVC offers from Indonesian and Thai producers. As informed, August shipment offers from the leading Indonesian PVC producer and a Thai producer surfaced with an increment of $30/ton as compared to July shipment offers. The manufacturer secured PVC cargoes from the Indonesian producer at the initial offer level, at $810/ton CIF Malaysia Main Port basis. Likewise, deals for PVC cargoes from a Thai producer concluded at the initial level as well, at $840/ton on LC at sight, DAP Malaysia basis. However, both procurements were for small volumes.
At the moment, sales for the manufacturer’s finished products are still quite slow, yet better from last month. Currently, the manufacturer operates at 70% of normal production capacity, and no supply issue was reported. In the days to come, the manufacturer opined to SSESSMENTS.COM that demand will continue to improve.
