A Vietnamese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that PP offers from a Thai producer resurfaced in the Vietnam market after being unavailable for more than a month. According to the trader, offers from the producer are still high, currently at $1,065/ton for PP Homo Raffia and at $1,095/ton for PP Homo Film. Offers for the same product from the leading Indian petrochemical producer are available at $950/ton. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. The trader opined that offers from both producers would be unworkable. “It is confusing that demand for PP is dull, but offers continue to move higher instead of decreasing,” the trader said.
For PE, the trader commented to SSESSMENTS.COM that import offers to the country from various origins remain firm. Offers from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer remain stable for LLDPE Film C4 and increased by $10/ton for HDPE Film on a weekly comparison. Meanwhile, LDPE Film offers from a Thai PE producer increased by $50/ton compared to offers available at the end of June.
