Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that prices for a certain HDPE Film grade in China changed by thousands Yuan within the same week. According to the sources, spot HDPE Film 9001 prices soared from between CNY7,100-7,200/ton ($1,000-1,015/ton) at the beginning of the week to CNY9,000/ton ($1,268/ton) as of April 2. All on cash, EXW China basis and including 13% VAT. “The offers increased by almost CNY2,000/ton ($282/ton),” one of the sources said.
SSESSMENTS.COM was told that the remarkable increase in offers for this grade occurred as the material can be used to make masks and traders use the chance to make high profits. Market talks have it that spot offers for HDPE Film 9001 even have hit CNY10,000/ton ($1,409/ton)-level. On the contrary, deals for import HDPE Film 9001 from Taiwan decreased between $50-60/ton compared to last week.
