  • Middle East origin $690-750/ton
  • Southeast Asia origin $760-780/ton

Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 as follows:

“As of April 7, September 2020 LLDPE futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange showed an increase of CNY145/ton ($20/ton) from last Friday’s level, open at CNY5,995/ton ($852/ton) by morning trading session. Following the uptrend in the futures market, we adjusted up local offers for LLDPE Film C4 between CNY200-250/ton ($28-35/ton) from last Friday’s level. The latest offers from our end are available between CNY6,200-6,300/ton ($881-895/ton) on cash, EXW China basis and including 13% VAT. In the import market, we maintained a stable offer level for Saudi LLDPE Film C4 as compared to the same period. The number of transactions remains limited so far as most buyers are sourcing the materials on an as-needed basis,” a Shanghai-based trader revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM

“From the import market, we received May shipment offers from a Qatari PE producer. For LLDPE Film C4, the latest offers are between $690-700/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis, or $40/ton higher than the offer level available last Friday. However, as compared to last Monday’s level, it showed a reduction of $40/ton as the producer made a sudden downward adjustment of $80/ton in the middle of last week and kept it stable until the end of last week,” a Xiamen-based trader reported.

“We have announced PE offers for May shipment to the China market this week. Following the uptrend in the China market, we initiated a price increase of $50/ton for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes from last week’s level, available at $770/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis. However, no transactions were successfully concluded as most customers gave a cold shoulder toward the offers,” a source from a Thai PE producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM

“Import offers from our end are moved to a different direction this week. The leading Saudi polyolefins producer adjusted up its offers to the China market. As compared to last week’s level, the producer applied a hefty price increase of $60/ton for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes. The latest offers are available at $730/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis with deals concluded at the initial offer level. In contrast, the leading Indian petrochemical producer is offering LLDPE Film C4 cargoes to China market at $670/ton with the same payment and delivery term, or $20/ton lower than last week. Despite the price cut, we have not managed to conclude any deals for Indian PP cargoes so far,” a global trading house told SSESSMENTS.COM on April 8.

“Following the biggest drop in formula prices, some Iranian producers opted to adjust down import offers to the China market. For LLDPE Film C4, some producers initiated a price reduction of between $40-70/ton from a week earlier. The latest offers from producers are available at $650/ton on TT, CIF China Main Port basis,” a China-based trader told SSESSMENTS.COM.

“As of Friday morning, April 10, the inventory level of the two leading Chinese polyolefins producers stood at 945,000 tons, a reduction of 40,000 tons compared to Thursday’s level. When compared to Tuesday’s level after the Qingming Festival, it showed a reduction of 170,000 tons,” a source with knowledge of the matter reported to SSESSMENTS.COM.
