Transactions for import LLDPE Film C4 between June 29 to July 3 on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis

Comments by market players on LLDPE Film C4 market as follows:
“We were notified by the leading Indonesian polyolefins producer that the company just cancelled all outstanding orders to China, and we think the estimated volume of the total cancellation is about 20,000 tons. Although the China market, in general, would not be significantly affected; for us, this is a type of big issue as we are facing huge losses due to this cancellation. It is pretty difficult to find a replacement for this quantity since there are not many offers, especially from the Middle Eastern suppliers. The majority of Middle Eastern suppliers have a limited supply on their end. Besides, demand in other countries such as Turkey and India is considered robust at the moment,” a Chinese trader commented.
A source of a Thai PE producer contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM on June 30, informed, “This week, we are only offering LLDPE Film C4 cargoes to the China market, available at $870/ton on LC at sight, CIF Main Port basis. There is no comparison available since we did not offer LLDPE Film C4 cargoes to the China market last week. So far, some deals were managed to close at the initial offer level.”
A day after, on July 1, SSESSMENTS.COM’s team talked with the Thai PE producer again and the source stated, “The company has sold out all allocations for LLDPE Film C4 to China with deals closed at the initial offer level. Since the supply from our end is limited, hence, the total volume was not big.”
“This week, the company’s latest offers for LLDPE Film C4 to the China market remained stable on a weekly comparison. The offers are available at $830/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis. As the demand in China is not too good, we are still unable to achieve deals so far,” a source from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer reported on July 1.
“This week, we just received July shipment offers from an Emirati producer with a notable increase. Particularly for LLDPE Film C4 cargoes, the offers went up by $60/ton, available at $880/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis,” as told by a global trading house to SSESSMENTS.COM.
