Comments by market players on HDPE Film market as follows:
“Offers from a Saudi producer for HDPE Film were at $770/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis. The producer was not aggressive in offering as the supply is not ample,” an Indonesian converter informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We received offers for Saudi HDPE Film at $750/ton on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia main port basis. However, the cargoes were no longer available as all have been sold out to China,” an Indonesian trader reported.
“We adjusted down offers for HDPE Film to Indonesia by $50/ton from last week’s level. Buyers’ responses were cold. Buy ideas expressed were between $50-60/ton lower than the initial offer level. The shipment for the cargoes will be after Eid Al-Fitr, which is celebrated on May 23. That is because starting from May 10 to May 22, there will be a road ban for trucks,” a Thai PE producer stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
“HDPE Film prices in Vietnam are still soft, unlike LLDPE Film C4 prices. Saudi HDPE Film cargoes were available at $700/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. The offer level was $30/ton lower from last week,” a Vietnamese trader said.
“This week, we decreased offers for HDPE Film between $20-40/ton compared to last week. Customers mostly asked for prices below $700/ton-level. Bids received were between $680-690/ton on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia main port basis and the levels were unacceptable for now,” the marketing arm of a Middle Eastern PE producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We received offers from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer at $830/ton on LC at sight, CIF Manila Port. We did not purchase the cargoes as the level was too high and inventory is still sufficient for production needs,” a Philippines converter told SSESSMENTS.COM.
“We bought HDPE Film cargoes of Saudi origin between $700-710/ton on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam main port basis. Compared to offers received last week, the deals were between $20-30/ton lower. The shipment is from a Singapore and Malaysia bonded warehouse,” a Vietnamese converter reported.
