Import PE offers on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis
Description: *July shipment offersA trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that a Saudi producer adjusted July shipment PE offers to Vietnam, even though buyers continue to show resistance towards high prices. Compared to a month earlier, July shipment offers for HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 from a Saudi producer surfaced with an upward adjustment of $70/ton and $40/ton respectively. From the leading Saudi polyolefins producer, the offers for import HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 also increased by $40/ton and $60/ton from a week earlier. While for Indian HDPE Film and HDPE Yarn cargoes, the offers were kept stable compared to the same period.
For this week, the trader told SSESSMENTS.COM that demand remains weak. The weak demand is affected by the hot weather in North Vietnam as well as the high precipitation level in South Vietnam. Moreover, buyers are still reluctant in making purchases for import cargoes due to high prices and prefer to source local materials as the offers deemed more attractive.
