NewsSSESSMENTS: South Korean Producer Sets Different Pricing Strategy On Export PE Offers To China

Author: SSESSMENTS

A South Korean producer sets different pricing strategy on export PE offers to the China market, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. A South Korean producer decided to maintain stable offers for HDPE Film and HDPE Pipe (PE 100) from last week’s levels, while market talks have it that other suppliers initiated price reductions. To date, the producer has managed to sell some volumes for HDPE Pipe (PE 100) with deals concluded at the initial offer level, at $960/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis. According to the producer source, buying sentiment for HDPE Film grade is quite bearish this week; hence, the producer opted to shift its focus to achieve target sales for HDPE Pipe grade.

Further added, if prices for HDPE Film continue to move lower next week, the producer will likely follow the trend as well, as told to SSESSMENTS.COM.
