Import PS offers on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis
A Taiwanese PS distributor shared with SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest adjustment on import offers to the Vietnam market. As informed, the distributor maintains its import GPPS Injection offers stable from last week’s level, while offers for HIPS Injection are available at $100/ton higher on a weekly basis. However, the distributor said that one of the Taiwanese PS producers has a limited allocation to Southeast Asia this week, citing that the company has sold lots of volume to China market in the previous weeks. The producer received more order entries from both China and Southeast Asia markets as supply from another Taiwanese PS producer remains short after announcing its decision to cease the PS production by the end of May 2020.
For pricing strategy, the distributor revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that a further price increase to the Vietnam market might not be a viable option as there are no strong demand fundamentals to support any form of price increase, asserting that overall consumption in Vietnam has yet to show signs of a rebound.
