NewsSSESSMENTS: Ukraine’s Karpatneftekhim Halted Production At HDPE Plant

Author: SSESSMENTS

A source with knowledge of the matter informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Ukraine’s Karpatneftekhim has halted production at its high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant on January 2, 2020. According to the source, Ukraine’s largest petrochemical plant with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year HDPE was shut due to high feedstock cost, which has left polymer prices less attractive to producers. The plant located in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine is expected to remain off-line for at least one month. However, it could be longer depending on HDPE prices in the global market.
