Market sources in the US informed SSESSMENTS.COM that LyondellBasell subsidiaries Basell Poliolefinas and Equistar Chemicals had notified their North American customers about a 3 cents/pound ($66/ton) price increment of their polypropylene (PP) for August. The producers noted that the latest increase would be on top of all previous price hikes. Market players said the increase is in line with their expectations amid the change in June polymer-grade propylene (PGP) contract which rose to 26.5 cents/pound from 21.50 cents/pound in May.
