A source with knowledge of the matter informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Formosa Plastics Corporation (FPC) will shut its EDC Unit. As stated, the company’s ethylene dichloride (EDC) unit with a nameplate capacity of 1.65 million tons/year will be shut in the middle of August. Located in Mailiao, Taiwan, the company’s EDC unit will remain offline for one-month turnaround maintenance.
