A source with knowledge of the matter informed to SSESSMENTS.COM the updates on South Korea Lotte Chemical’s Butadiene (BD) unit following the explosion in March. As previously informed, an explosion occurred at the company’s naphtha cracker on March 4, due to the flame from the Process Gas Compressor. Located in Daesan, the BD unit with a production capacity of 150,000 tons/year was scheduled to remain shut until October.
