Market sources with knowledge of the matter informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Zagros Petrochemical Company (ZPC) is planning to resume production at its methanol plant by this weekend, week commencing July 20. Previously, the plant was shut on July 13, 2020, due to technical issues. Located in Assaluyeh, Iran, the No. 2 methanol plant has a production capacity of 1.65 million tons/year.
According to the company’s website, ZPC can produce up to 3,300,000 tons of methanol per annum, has been known as the largest methanol producer in Iran and one of the five largest producers in the world.
