RumourSSESSMENTS: LG Chem’s Plants Caught Fire, Chime On Supply Disruption

Market talks have it that fire at LG Chem’s plant will lead to a supply disruption, sources stated to SSESSMENTS.COM. On May 19, 2020, the producer’s two PP plants with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year and 180,000 tons/year located in LG Daesan Industrial Park were involved in an accidental fire. Sources said the company is one of the top PP suppliers to China.

According to market participants, LG Chemical supplies China market for the following; H7900 series of melt spray material, M1600 series of washing machine material, H1500 series of pallet material, H7411 and H7700 series of fiber material, and R6400 series of medical transparent material. Due to the incident, supply for the mentioned materials is expected to be affected.
