- A global trading house informed SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest import PE offers from the leading Saudi polyolefins producer. According to the source, as compared to last week, the latest offers surfaced with increases of $10/ton for all grades of PE. Further added, the producer provides a room for negotiation as buying sentiment is weaker than last week. Offers for import cargoes were deemed too high and not competitive in the China market at present. In the local market, the trader stated that offers for PE across all grades from their end are stable from last week’s levels.
- Another Chinese trader contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team unveiled that the company has adjusted down the offers across all grades of PE between CNY50-100/ton ($7-14/ton) as compared to last week. Further added by the trader, at the moment, some converters have a lean inventory level. As such, the company managed to secure some deals. In the import market, the trader commented that offers for US PE cargoes were deemed too high and buyers have started to lose interest in this cargo. Looking ahead, the arrival of imported US and Indian cargoes in late June or early July will put pressure on PE prices.
