NewsSSESSMENTS: Japan Taiyo To Cut Export Allocation

A source from Japan’s Taiyo Vinyl Corporation informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the company will cut the allocation for the export market. Previously informed, the producer’s PVC plant located in Osaka with a capacity of 158,000 tons/year will be shut permanently from June 2020. There is no exact date disclosed regarding the shutdown, however, the source stated that it will be within the first week of June. 

Following the shutdown, the export allocation will be cut around 50%, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. However, for June shipment, the producer is able to allocate a maximum 8,000 tons to India and 8,000 tons to both China and Southeast Asia market combined as there is still some reserved inventory available from the Osaka plant. Usually, the producer’s allocation is 10,000 tons to India market and 10,000 tons to China and Southeast Asia combined.
