- A trader based in China contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM’s team reported the latest local offers for PE across different grades. From the trader’s end, local offers for HDPE Film, LDPE Film, and LLDPE Film C4 had slightly increased as much as CNY50/ton ($7/ton) compared to Tuesday’s level. Likely, the upward adjustment was made following the rebound in the futures prices by Tuesday settlement. As noted, September 2020 LLDPE futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange increased CNY60/ton ($8/ton) day on day, settling at CNY6,760/ton ($954/ton) by Tuesday settlement.
- Another Chinese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that local offers for LLDPE Film C4 from the company’s end remain stable from a week earlier, available at CNY6,750/ton ($843/ton) on cash, EXW China basis and including 13% VAT. The trader commented that the current price movement is quite similar to last week; which spot prices are just fluctuating within a limited range. From imports, the offers remained limited this week. Demand-wise, the trader stated that buying sentiment is rather flat as buyers are only buying on an as-needed basis.
