- As of Tuesday, May 19, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that September 2020 LLDPE prices on the Dalian Commodity Exchange showed an increase of CNY120/ton ($17/ton) as observed at 2 PM GMT+8, open at CNY6,380/ton ($897/ton) by morning trading session. Triggered by the firmer futures prices, a Chinese trader made further upward adjustments on its local LLDPE offers. As compared to Monday’s level, the trader initiated a price increase of between CNY50-100/ton ($7-14/ton) for LLDPE Film C4 grades. However, the trader maintained a stable offer level for HDPE Film and LDPE Film grades as compared to the same period.
- On the supply front, sources in China shared with SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest updates of the inventory level of the two leading polyolefins producers in the country. As of Tuesday, May 19, the inventory level of polyolefins at both producers stood at 845,000 tons, reduced significantly by 60,000 tons from Monday’s level.
