Description: *Offers to contract customersThe second-largest Taiwanese PVC producer has announced August shipment offers to China and India. A market source revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that August shipment offers for ethylene-based PVC cargoes to contract customers are available at the same level to the leading Taiwanese PVC producer’s offers, at $810/ton and $860/ton to China and India, respectively. All on LC at sight, CIF/CFR Main Port basis. While for the spot market, ethylene-based PVC offers are $30-40/ton higher compared to offers for the contract-based customers. However, the producer is willing to give a $10/ton discount for big volume purchases.
The market source added, all PVC producers currently offer materials at high prices as supported by relatively tight supply in Asia as well as in the US market. As such, buyers do not have any choice but to accept the available offers in the market, the source stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
